I had a hard time finding my county's copyright policy. Finally, I went to my building's Media Specialist and she was able to locate it for me. The memo is entitled Columbia County's Media Programs which has a section on Copyright Policy as well as Fair Use. In the policy it states "Building level media specialists are responsible for disseminating local copyright procedures to school personnel, for providing information regarding copyright law, and for coordinating copyright clearance." The policy is from 2010 and doesn't cover any policy for students. This policy also isn't given out or it appears taught to teachers on any regular basis. After looking over this week's required readings there are many things to consider before creating and publishing student work on the Web. It is very important to make sure students have considered Copyright Policy and understand what Fair Use really is. Since we are not necessarily being guided by our county, it is important for us as teachers to look over our student's work carefully and discuss with them what rules and guidelines they must follow. Below are just the answers I give. Below my answers are links to help guide you along the way. If you can blind yourself for a minute :) go past my answers. Go over the info I have linked, then take the test for yourself. I have included the answers for you to self check in case I might be wrong!
